WD2I 2009The first International Workshop on Data Integration and Interoperability

In conjunction with AICCSA 2009

May 9-13 2009, Rabat, Morocco

Submission deadline: January 10th, 2009

Overview

During the last decade, data integration has gained more and more attention because it is a crucial task in complex applications. Hence, data integration is a key challenge not only for industrials in order to achieve interoperability between heterogeneous systems but also for end-users who want to retrieve combined and meaningful information from the growing web.Dealing with semantics has brought new issues in data integration research area. Ontology and knowledge-based approaches are constantly proposed as part of solutions to such a challenge, but new architectures and techniques facilitating interoperability of already existing systems are also strongly required. The goal of this workshop is to have an interactive gathering of researchers and practitioners in the field of data integration. The workshop aims to encourage researchers to present novel issues and techniques related to information integration and interoperability.Topics covered by the workshop will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Data Integration
  • XML data and schema integration
  • XML data models, query processing and data management
  • Ontology creation, searching, extraction, and evolution
  • Ontology mapping, merging, and alignment
  • Web Semantics integration and interoperability
  • Web Semantics content creation, annotation, and extraction
  • Web Semantics search, query, and visualization
  • Web Semantics middleware and services
  • Orchestration, choreography and composition of web services
  • Grid and P2P architectures for service and information integration
  • Information integration applications in areas such as e-Business, e-Commerce, e-Payment, e-government, e-Learning, e-science, e-communities, Digital libraries, etc.
